robably one of the most gorgeous bike ever put out by Kawasaki, even if the styling is a outdated. Some eBay auction Pics here. BTW My fave is the A1SS of the same period. Pics of your bikes? They’re welcomed! The first set shows a bike whose Seat has been redone, correct type is shown underneath in the 2nd series of photos. Note the charge sticker. It was put ther with the running in sticker on the tach… charging all the way to 6000 rpms. Correct sticker on the sidepanel, embossed and all… difficult to find nowadays… correct that impossible to find. Andre from reproduction decals does a repro that is not embossed, though.
Second set shows a Barn fresh example… Pigeon poop and all.
Some good pics of an original 69er Avenger. US Model
Yellow Tint was for 69 and 70 models, there was a red too. New rear fender shape and incorrect blinkers.
That’s a true show-stopper of a bike, very well restored.
Beautifully restored US model. Note the Grey sidepanel, similar to the early models. It is painted white in 1971 .Look at those pipes! And the Running-in sticker.
OOOPS, Finally got it good. Crossed a white line in front of a parking lot and a cop car materialized out of thin air. Things got pretty ugly as I wasn’t really in the best of shape, covered in plaster dust and looking pretty scruffy. The conversation took a definitely wrong turn when they decided my scooter was stolen. Errr no Sir, I’ve had it for 12 years and Yes Sir, I restored it myself 15 years ago.
Did I mentioned that of course 1) I didn’t have the scoot’s papers 2) I had just stuck my plates on it for a little errand and 3) YES I HAD CROSSED A WHITE LINE. It took almost 2 hours to sort all this business, with visits to the workshop AND the hous AND a full search in public… looking good
This will net me a hefty fine as well as a denounciation to the judge for the lack of insurance… ouch.
This comes from an eBay auction in 2004, very tidy restored bike, was still going strong at $8’650 2 days before the end. I can’t remember how much it sold for.
Again pulled from an eBay auction a fairly straight example of an A1 1969 model. Bear in mind that is probably a late 1969 model as the paint style was changed at the start of the production. Enjoy the pics!
A1 is visually the same with the exception of the exhausts and stickers. Note the beautiful blinkers, worth a bloody fortune..
Some pics of the very early model to help during your restoration. All these are barn fresh bikes. Do you have a nicer one?

Finally received the disc valves 2wheelsdeals, a eBay shop i can strongly recommend. Unknown to them, there was a Kawasaki A1R disc valve in their kit… makes my day. It’s been over three years since I’ve seen one for sale. Noelia’s motor is (very) slowly coming together.
Going throught the ads recently, I noticed a KR1 for sale, cheap too. This must the only one in the region, as they were never imported in Switzerland. Turns out it’s a dealer that bought it as a purely track bike. Will have to check this later. Comes with spares… could help me finish the other one I’ve got, a Kr1B. With a bit of luck, it could be a KR1R?
