My lovely Yamaha DS7

Here’s a gallery of my Yamaha DS7, with swiss papers and “Veteran” Expertise ie specific MOT or tecnical control., CT pour les français.

Apart from a cable (which I have now) and two scrapes on the turn signals, it is a very well preserved original… I bought it with less than 9’000 km on the clocks and have rode it for a couple years on and off. A lovely bike, now up for grabs. A bit of dedicated elbow grease will have it really shining. The front brake needs a thorough cleaning as it tends to seize.

I would like around 2’800 € or CHF for it. Comes with a spare frame and motor. This bike will put a smile on your face!

Sortie Kawa 3 Cylindres 2009

Yesterday (Staurday) was another brilliant day, nice and sunny if a bit chilly. It was the first Swiss Romand (french speaking) Kawsaki Triple Meet.

Thanks to Guy who tookthe initiative to invite all known Kaw triple owners of the region at his house before a ride-out in the Gorgeous country side… plenty of unknown road to me.

Of course, my S2 couldn’t get plated in time, so I showed up with my daily bike, a Yamaha DS7, with only 4 gears and very short sprocket ratios… and a bent frame as was discovered by the local Guru at top of the Molendruz pass. Never mind, it did the bike lots of good trying to catch up with 2 H2, Guy, always the polite type, stayed behind me to make sure I wouldn’t get lost.

I went down after coffee at top of the pass and they went on to clock up another trouble-free 150 km (with the exception of a nearly lost baffle). All the gang then came down to my workshop for a cold one before going back home. A brilliant and simple day of fun.

Hopefully next year (or next time), we’ll get a few extra people and bikes.

I sold today a bunch of DS7 pistons I didn’t need to a gent in Germany. These guy work on Adler motorcycles from the 50′s… a direct link to YAm as the Adler MB250 was used as the basis of all YDS bike. No wonder the pistons fit straight into the german bike!
I’m sure they could use RDLC pistons from Wiseco if they didn’t have the reed windows cut in. Read somewhere that Wiseco would do them at no extra charge. Something to check.
